NIOA launches Future Technologies Division
NIOA Managing Director, Robert Nioa, today announced the company has established a Future Technologies Division. Mr Nioa said “The establishment of the division is aimed at exploring globally disruptive technology in the Defence sector, fostering innovation of existing technology, exploring futuristic development and supporting the company’s strategic growth through unique partnerships and co-development opportunities.”
Leading the NIOA FutureTechnologies Division is newly appointed Chief Technology Officer, Peggy MacTavish, who has proven global experience in bringing about transformative change to industry and military alike.
Peggy currently sits on various Australian and International boards including:
- The Natural Science & Engineering Research Council of Canada NSERC Chairman/Technical Reviewer
- Alberta Science and Technology Leadership (ASTech) Foundation - Reviewer
- Australian Association of Unmanned Systems (AAUS), Executive Board Member
Peggy has a rich history within the science and technology sector spanning government, academia, not for profit and a broad range of industries.
The NIOA Future Technologies Division will be located at the company’s Brisbane headquarters. It will leverage infrastructure and personnel throughout various NIOA locations in Australia and overseas. These include the Australian government owned Benalla Munitions plant, Canberra, Melbourne and the recently announced U.S. office.
